Two weeks ago, I had to pleasure of attending Cory McNabb and Amber Holritz’s 5-day long McWorkshop in Asheville, N.C. I enjoyed the company of some great photographers while I spoke about ShootQ and then got to hang out with everyone and learn. When I first got to the workshop, we headed straight over to The Biltmore Estate for a photo shoot with John and Lindsey Bamber who were our bride and groom models for the day. I enjoyed meeting all of you and I hope to see you all again soon!

The first week of June, I had the pleasure of photographing of good friend’s wedding on St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. They could not have made it a more memorable experience. There were only about 20 people total in attendance, it was on a beautiful beach with a great semi-cloudy day going on. Wow. I have a blast and could not be more honored to have photographed Sara and Grant’s special day.

A few weeks back, I photographed a really fun wedding at Villa Christina in Atlanta, Ga. The groom was an amateur weatherman and worried about the rain clouds all day long. When it finally came time to seat guests, the clouds opened up and a double rainbow covered the sky above the ceremony location.

A few weeks ago, I photographed The Atlantan Brides Presents: An Evening of Bridal Luxury at Mason Murer Fine Art Gallery in Atlanta, Ga with LaCour (who sponsored the event). This was the second bridal event of this type that I have photographed and The Atlantan made it a night to remember. There was a cocktail hour and dinner while people roamed the gallery space that featured the work of different industry vendors along side the art work on the walls. The feature of the night was a bridal gown runway show but with a twist. They interweaved a Cinderella story in with the actual runway show making for an entertaining experience.

A few weeks ago, I had to pleasure of photographing an old friend’s wedding at the Roswell Mill in Roswell, Ga. The bride and I grew up together, from playing in the crib to hanging out in a few bars, we have been friends for a very long time. It was so special to be part of her day. Originally, she asked me for referrals for photographers during her wedding planning, but I couldn’t think of a better wedding gift than to capture her day on film (so to speak) for her. It was great to see so many old friends and family while I was there as well. To view the entire slideshow, click below.

Bat Mitzvah Bat Mitzvah Bat Mitzvah
At the beginning of March, I shot a Bat Mitzvah at Maggiano’s in Buckhead. This was a first for me, but what a great party it was! I don’t remember going to parties like that when I was their age. These are a few of my favorite images from the day. Enjoy!

On Saturday, I had my very first engagement shoot. I when I say first I mean first. I have never even been on one with LaCour. I have seen a lot of their photos and been around them enough doing after ceremony portraits to get an idea of how they work. It went very well. I learned a lot and got some nice shots in the process. If you want to see all of my favorite images, click below.Click here to see my favorites.

On June 10th, LaCour had a very large wedding at the Piedmont Driving Club. Wow! What an event! It was really cool to be there and document such a large party. As I said, there were 850 guests and we had a team of 6 photographers. It was crazy tyring to get all the photos we need, but with all of us, it worked out very well. We all ended up taking over 7000 photos or about 60 gigabytes of data! That is as big as my entire laptop hard drive! Oh! and by the way… I think that is the best boquet toss shot I will ever get!

June 3rd Wedding

June 3rd was a fun wedding. The ceremony was at a church near where I grew up, a church that my sister actually had ballet recitals in. One a side note, if you ever want to see the video of my sister doing ballet, just ask, it is hilarious!! Anyways, as per my usual duties at wedding, I go to the reception early to get details and overalls before all of the guests arrive and this reception was in the Atlanta Financial Center at the Buckhead Club. The Architecture was awesome and made for some nice images. I hope you like them and as always critiques are very welcome.

Funny Photos…

So I have been going throuh all of my wedding photos this past week, in hopes of making a new wedding gallery/portfolio for my site and for friends. In the process, I found these two funny shots. The top one is from the one wedding I did with Drew; I just thought his face right there was perfect plus the face he is making is classic. Then the bottom one is Brittany at the one wedding she came to with me; she looks completely clueless right there…. so true (lol). I hope to have a new portfolio up here very soon, look for a link.

These are a few photos from my May 13th wedding with LaCour. The bride was from Africa, so most of her family wore traditional African dress. Hope you like them.

Saturday Wedding

Yesterday was the beginning of my crazy wedding schedule this summer. Basically, I’m not going to get a Saturday off until sometime in June, I think. But, it should be a great learning experience for me and I will make some money and hopefully a couple good photos along the way.
