Corey Smith!

So last night, a good friend of mine from high school came to Milledgeville with Corey Smith, who was playing at Capital City. I hadn’t seen Justin in quite a while so I went to hang out and listen to the music and take some photos just for fun. Justin got me in for free and I hung out with him during the opening band and just caught up. I met the guitar player for Corey Smith, Jason Kenney and we chatted for a while as well as their road manager. Once they went on stage (and there was a ton of feedback for the first song because the sound at CC sucks) I headed to the stage to take some photos. There was close to 500 people there, so navigating my way around was tough, but since I met the manager earlier and I told him I would give him some photos, he let me go pretty much where I wanted on the stage to get the shots. Long story short, I shot a bunch of photos, made some great contacts with the band, had some hot freshman hit on me as much as possible and try to take me home while I was taking photos, and then the sound at Capital City just died. They had to stop playing during the middle of their last song with no encore, the show just stopped. It was terrible. So I hope to maybe be working for them some more in the future. This just goes to show you that just going to hang out and have fun can get you jobs too.
