The first week of June, I had the pleasure of photographing of good friend’s wedding on St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. They could not have made it a more memorable experience. There were only about 20 people total in attendance, it was on a beautiful beach with a great semi-cloudy day going on. Wow. I have a blast and could not be more honored to have photographed Sara and Grant’s special day.

A few weeks back, I photographed a really fun wedding at Villa Christina in Atlanta, Ga. The groom was an amateur weatherman and worried about the rain clouds all day long. When it finally came time to seat guests, the clouds opened up and a double rainbow covered the sky above the ceremony location.

A few weeks back, Justin Glanville invited me to go hang by in the river in Cumming, Ga for some trout fishing. Justin doesn’t get much time off to relax like this because of his job as the audio engineer for the Avett Brothers band. If you have not heard of them, you should check them out! Anyways, we both enjoyed being by the river for the day even though Justin didn’t catch anything worth keeping.

A few weeks ago, I photographed The Atlantan Brides Presents: An Evening of Bridal Luxury at Mason Murer Fine Art Gallery in Atlanta, Ga with LaCour (who sponsored the event). This was the second bridal event of this type that I have photographed and The Atlantan made it a night to remember. There was a cocktail hour and dinner while people roamed the gallery space that featured the work of different industry vendors along side the art work on the walls. The feature of the night was a bridal gown runway show but with a twist. They interweaved a Cinderella story in with the actual runway show making for an entertaining experience.

My niece, Mackinzye, is the cutest child I know (I may be partial though) and a few weeks back she was playing in our living when a shaft of light came right across the room. I quickly grabbed my camera because I knew that the light was going to be there for long and that she would not play in the same spot for much time either. She has been learning to point out different body parts, so she decided to show off for the camera. Enjoy!

I’ve been working on my image archive a lot lately and today I came across some old images that I have never posted. These were taken around Milledgeville, Ga in 2005. I’m hoping to roll out some official major changes to site very soon! Look for an annoucement soon!

A few weeks ago, I had to pleasure of photographing an old friend’s wedding at the Roswell Mill in Roswell, Ga. The bride and I grew up together, from playing in the crib to hanging out in a few bars, we have been friends for a very long time. It was so special to be part of her day. Originally, she asked me for referrals for photographers during her wedding planning, but I couldn’t think of a better wedding gift than to capture her day on film (so to speak) for her. It was great to see so many old friends and family while I was there as well. To view the entire slideshow, click below.

Bat Mitzvah Bat Mitzvah Bat Mitzvah
At the beginning of March, I shot a Bat Mitzvah at Maggiano’s in Buckhead. This was a first for me, but what a great party it was! I don’t remember going to parties like that when I was their age. These are a few of my favorite images from the day. Enjoy!

Ever needed a release?

Work Release Work Release Work Release Work Release

Have you ever just needed a release from something? Today, about an hour before sunset, I just needed to get away from my computer and work for a bit. I grabbed one memory card, one lens, my keys, and left for about an hour. These images are no more than 5 miles away from my home, but I felt like I was hundreds of miles away. It was wonderful to just go and shoot. I hope to do this more often.

Sunset Over Cleveland

Sunset Sunset Sunset

Yesterday, I went on a photo hunt around Cleveland, GA. My initial hopes were to drive up an old road to the top of a mountain. I made it 80% of the way before some yocal caught up with me on a 4-wheeler. He made it very clear that (even though it was not posted) this was private land (not his) and I could not be up there. After pissing him off with a few sarcastic comments, I turned my car around, totally disgusted. On the drive back to my house, I noticed this lone tree in front of the setting sun. I couldn’t resist, especially after my encounter with the natives. Enjoy!

Last week, I photographed an event in Atlanta and the theme was very green! They were serving these great green Martinis! I couldn’t resist finding a nice image of them.

Yesterday, Ariana and I spent some time exploring the abandoned buildings of the Central State Psychiatric Hospital in Milledgeville, GA. We started in the two retired boiler buildings before finding a way inside of an old patient ward. The color, light, and texture of this dilapidated architecture inspired Ariana and I to continue our adventure for just over five hours. Click below to see a slideshow of more images from the day.

On Dec. 29, I shot a friend’s wedding in Conyers, GA. Here is a selection of my favorite images from her special day. I had a great time at this wedding and I hope they have a great future together!

Random Image
About a year ago, a friend asked me to take a photo for me her (here is the link to that post) and she asked me to do the same thing on Wednesday. This image was taken solely at her request so I hope she likes it. In case you can’t tell what it is, this is yard furniture and a old lamp in my backyard.

Day 1 Day 1 Day 1 Day 1 Day 2 Day 2 Day 2
Two weeks ago some six friends and I traveled to a trout fishing cabin in Epworth, Ga to celebrate Colby and my 25th birthday. We partied, played games, got in the hot tub, and had an all around good time. I can’t wait to do it again sometime!

On Superbowl Sunday, I took a hike to the top of Blood Mountain with Erin, Adam, Jen, Mark, Foto, Fiona, and Wiley. This was a great time to show myself how out of shape I am on the day before my 25th birthday. After the hike we went back to Jen & Adam’s house for some food and fun while we watched the Superbowl. Jen topped the evening off with a double chocolate birthday caked topped with my “WG” logo. I couldn’t have asked for more. :)

A couple of weeks ago, Ben and I took a weekend trip to Milledgeville. On that nice get away, Joe and I took a nice hike around Bartrum Forest. Sorry for not posting more often. I am going to try and change that in the near future.

Snow Day!

Snow Day

Well what a crazy year it has been already. I woke on Jan. 2, 2008 to 1/2 in. of snow on the ground and today it is almost 60 degrees! In hindsight, going out and taking this photo wasn’t the best idea because I had a fever of 101.3 later that evening, but I like the image so it was worth it.

In the past two weeks, my life has dramatically changed in a great way! I finished my last full semester in college (I am taking one final class this Spring to finish my degree), moved out of Milledgeville and into my Dad’s house, started my corporation, and got a ‘real’ job.

A friend of mine is trying to sell his high rise condo in Buckhead so he enlisted my help to get some nice photos to help the selling process along with the horrible real estate market. Since he has some beautiful views from his Condo, I wanted to show just how beautiful the place could be at sunset. I think they came out quite well. Now lets hope he can sell his place sometime soon!
